الفتاة: “بلى أستطيع، ولكن أخبرني لماذا تطلب مني أن أعيش معك؟”

الشاب: “أخبريني أولا ألا يناسبك العيش معي؟!”

الفتاة: “لا، ليس لدي مانع في الانتقال والعيش معك، ولكني سأفعلها في حال إذا كنا نحب بعضنا”.

The young man was silent and did not show any reaction to answer the girl’s question.

Girl: “Then do you want to live with me because you love me?”

The young man nodded his head in refusal. The girl carried herself and left his house immediately. Her psychological condition worsened completely, so that she did not go back to work in the hospital and was satisfied with her work in her private clinic. She did not meet anyone who spent most of her time with her patients and did not talk about anything.

صمت الشاب ولم يبدي أية ردة فعل يجيب بها على تساءل الفتاة.

الفتاة: “إذاً هل تريد العيش معي لأنك تحبني؟”

أومأ الشاب برأسه مجيبا بالرفض، حملت الفتاة نفسها ورحلت من منزله على الفور، استاءت حالتها النفسية بالكامل حتى أنها عادت لم تذهب لعملها بالمستشفى واكتفت بعملها بعيادتها الخاصة، لم تكن تقابل أحدا تمضي جل وقتها مع مرضاها ولا تتحدث في أي شيء.

وإذا الشاب المتيم بها كان يرقبها من بعيد، وعندما دخلت لهذا المكان وتأخرت دخل خلفها ليتبين أمرها وإذا بها ملقاة على الأرض ولم تسلم من بطش يديهم، لقد أنقذها من بين أيديهم في اللحظات الأخيرة.

نكل بثلاثتهم وأوجعهم ضربا، وما إن أخرج سلاحه من جيبه حتى فروا ولاذوا بالهرب من أمامه؛ حملها بين ذراعيه وعاد بها لسيارته.

And all the way back the girl did not utter a word, but was soaked in her tears and did not know whether to thank him for saving her life, or screaming at him because he was the cause of all this from the beginning.

وطوال طريق العودة لم تنطق الفتاة بكلمة واحدة، بل كانت غارقة في دموعها ولا تدري أتشكره على إنقاذه لحياتها، أم تصرخ في وجهه لأنه كان السبب في كل ذلك من البداية.
